Chartered Building Surveyors, 2110 Consult, are acting as Project Manager for the re-modelling and refurbishment of a large residential extension project in Fleetville, St Albans.
The original detached house dates from the 1930s and was re-modelled and extended around 12 years ago prior to the present owners moving in. The current occupiers now wish to update the property to accommodate their young family for the long term.
Managing Director of 2110, Richard Taylor, commented: “It is great to be working on a local residential project here in St Albans. We are working very closely with the owners and it gives us great satisfaction to see the positive and life-changing impact the build will have on them”.
Work being undertaken on the property includes the complete replacement of the rear elevation and roof, a part-single, part-double extension to the rear and a complete internal reconfiguration. The house is being re-wired and provided with retrofitted underfloor heating, in conjunction with upgraded heating, lighting and controls. Ultra-slim sliding doors and minimalist glazing also help lift the property into the 21st century.
Demolition work commenced in early 2016 with the roof structure now almost complete and first fix plumbing and heating installations are well underway. Completion is scheduled for August 2016.
