Low Carbon Workplace in Shoreditch, London EC2 makes the Grade

We provided Party Wall and Project Management services for the vertical extension and redevelopment of an existing five storey office building in the City of London. Retained by Stanhope and Threadneedle, the building forms part of their Low Carbon Workplace development fund; www.carbontrust.com. The building sits on a prominent plot on the corner of Paul Street and Luke Street, EC2.

Hale Brown Architects and Heyne Tillet Steel Consulting Structural Engineers formed part of the design team who helped to undertake the refurbishment to provide Grade A office space with a new storey of column free offices across the sixth floor of the building and new MEP services throughout. Work involved the complete refurbishment and extension of the property to increase its nett lettable floor space by more than 10%.

We acted as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent for the Scheme, helping the client to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating for the building. We also provided neighbourly matters advice and were retained to ensure Party Wall awards, crane oversailing and scaffold licences were negotiated and dealt with successfully prior to work on site commencing.

LCW invests in the development of low carbon commercial buildings which receive ongoing support after their completion in order to realise their full energy efficiency potential when in use.
