New Format Out of Town Primark Store in Birmingham

In Birmingham, we delivered the first of Primark’s new format ‘out of town’ stores, featuring contemporary glazed façades with architectural louvres. The design team amalgamated three existing units and extended the rear of the building by around 10,000 sq. ft., forming a shell of around 55,000 sq. ft. The building was handed over in late 2015. Primark opened Easter 2016.

Work for the tenant included the provision of a high specification concrete deck mezzanine floor built to strict level tolerances and dynamic response factors. Other work included the provision of lift and escalator pits, stair cores, as well as repairs to retained elements of building fabric.

As part of the shell work undertaken for Primark, two 1,000 sq. ft. kiosks have been formed to facilitate lettings to The Fragrance Shop and EE; both of whom are now successfully trading.
