Cat A or not to Cat A?

Lots of our projects involve discussions around whether Developers should be leaving speculatively delivered spaces to a shell and core, ‘Cat A’ or ‘Cat A+’ standard.

As every scheme differs, we can’t answer that question in a paragraph, but whether spaces are left as bare bones or given shiny raised access floors, there are lots of nuances to consider.

Here are some images of one of our recently delivered Cat A projects in the City. We like to think that the careful planning and considered designs contributed towards the almost immediate letting of the building, without major work being needed to completely reconfigure and adapt the Cat A works at a later date.

That has to be better for the environment and give the best value for money to both landlord and tenant…
